The Celtic Manor Championship Course
About forty minutes south is The Celtic Manor Championship Course, the stage for the 2010 Ryder Cup. It has two new 18-hole courses, a world-class golfing academy with floodlit driving range, practice range and teaching bays.
Two courses were designed by Robert Trent Jones and yardages are from 4001 to 7400.

The Rolls Of Monmouth Golf Club
Named after Charles Stewart Rolls (one of the founders of Rolls-Royce) and set in some of the most beautiful welsh countryside. Ten minutes away and has a championship 6,733 yard course.

St. Pierre Golf Club
St. Pierre Golf Club is set in 400 acres of parkland and an 11 acre lake. There are two 18 hole championship courses. The old course is 6818 yards, and has hosted the solheim cup. The 18th hole drives over the 11 acre lake to an elevated green – a spectacular finale! The mathern course is 5762 yards. A shorter course through tree lined fairways and numerous water hazards, this is an ideal course for beginners. St Pierre is about forty minutes away.

Wernddu Golf Club
Wernddu Golf Club is set in undulating parkland, over looking the Black Mountains, ten minutes towards Abergavenny. There is a long 9 out and shorter 9 back, giving a total of 5572 yards.

Just over the border is Ross-On-Wye Golf Course with a 6,491 yardage. Said by many to be one of the prettiest in England, it is extremely testing.

About an hour away is Kington Golf Club, the highest golf club in England. Founded in 1925, it is located on Bradnor Hill (look out for the rambling sheep), just outside the medieval town of Kington in Herefordshire on the border with Wales.
